Interior Painting in Wellington
FROM A SINGLE WALL TO THE ENTIRE HOME
Interior painting that prioritizes preparation
A fresh coat of paint can transform a room, but the quality and longevity of the finished job depends heavily on what happens before the paint goes on. Southerleigh handles the preparation and repairs same interior painting job.
Interior painting for all kinds of projects
No job too big or small
From a single room to a complete interior repaint, we can take care of the preparation and painting.
Water damage needs more than paint
We can deal with the preparation, repairs and painting following leaks or other water damage.
Surfaces that need attention
Cracks, damaged plaster and other imperfections can be repaired before the painting begins.
Stains need the right treatment
Persistent stains may need more than simply painting over them. We prepare the surface appropriately before applying the finish.
More than just walls
Ceilings, doors, frames, skirting boards and other interior trim can all be included.
Awkward spaces are part of the job
Bathroom painting, stairways, high ceilings and other difficult areas are no problem.
Your cracks keep coming back?
With earthquakes, strong winds and the movement that comes with them, Wellington homes have to put up with a lot, so cracks and other imperfections in walls and ceilings are something we encounter regularly.
When we repair a crack before painting, we don't simply fill it and paint over it. We consider how the home as a 'system' is working (or not working), why the crack is there, its orientation and alignment with surrounding surfaces, the effect of lighting and colour, and how the repair needs to cope with the movement that caused it.
The last thing a homeowner wants is to have a freshly painted wall develop the same crack again a few weeks later. Where appropriate, we use repair methods and materials suited to the particular situation, before carrying out the wall painting or ceiling painting work.
Restoring Difficult Surfaces
This Naenae project involved ceiling painting following water damage. The job required more than simply applying a new coat of paint — the textured surface had completely fallen away and had to be recreated to match the surrounding ceiling, without having to redo the entire ceiling.
